Murray’s Chicken is based in South Fallsburg, New York, and was founded by Murray Bresky in 1992, who wanted to produce a different product than the dominant industry players. All Murray’s Chicken products are raised no antibiotics ever and on a vegetarian diet. Its operations are certified by Humane Farm Animal Care (Certified Humane). Along with chicken products, the company sells turkeys seasonally, as well as value-added products such as sausage and meatballs.
Murray’s produced an estimated 925,000 pounds of ready-to-cook chicken on a weekly basis in 2023. Its 2021 sales were $67.5 million, an increase from $60 million in 2020.
Murray’s products are sold under the Murray’s and Al Maaedah brands as well as various private labels. Its product mix is 85% fresh and 15% frozen. At point of sale, its products are 90% cut-up. Its products are sold 75% foodservice, 20% retail and 5% institutional.
Murrays added a new evisceration line with automated giblet harvesting in 2022.
