Northern Pride Inc.

Northern Pride Inc. is a grower-owned turkey processing company based in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The cooperative was formed in 1989 by independent turkey growers in Minnesota and North Dakota. The current 19 grower-owners purchased the processing plant from Land O’Lakes. Northern Pride’s processing plant operates seasonally from April through December each year. Its primary products are whole body turkeys, bone-in-breast, tray-pack parts and bulk commodity parts. Northern Pride also produces free-range and no antibiotic ever turkey. It employs over 200 people. Northern Pride slaughtered an estimated 50 million pounds of live turkeys in 2023, an increase from 45 million in 2022.
According to its 2022 survey response, Northern Pride's turkey sales break out is 90% retail and 10% export. Product forms are 85% frozen and 15% fresh. At point of sale, its products are 85% whole birds and 15% raw. The company's turkey products are marketed under the Northern Pride, Snowland, Harvest Gold and Farmers Choice brands.
In October 2023, Hunter Miller was appointed as the chief executive officer of Northern Pride. Previously, Miller held leadership positions at Peco Foods, Pilgrim’s Pride, Bilinski Sausage and Freshwater Farms.
