World Veterinary Association announces award

Professor Dato’ Dr. Azmi Lila will be recognized for his veterinary education and leadership.

Professor Dato’ Dr. Azmi Lila from Malaysia has been honored with the Veterinary Education category award in the 2024 World Veterinary Association (WVA) Global Veterinary Awards. With a distinguished academic background, including a PhD in Virology/Microbiology from the University of Cambridge, an MBA and an LL.M in Business Law, Professor Azmi has made significant contributions to veterinary education and leadership.

His extensive experience in academia, corporate governance, finance and investment within the veterinary and healthcare industry has bridged the gap between academia and industry. Professor Azmi's accolade marks the final category winner announcement leading up to the awards ceremony during the 39th World Veterinary Association Congress in Cape Town, South Africa. Nominated by the Malaysian Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), Professor Azmi's victory is celebrated as a testament to his academic prowess, innovative research and dedicated leadership in the veterinary profession on a global scale.
