At the recent meeting of DLG's board of representatives in Vejle, the board of directors for the next two years was elected, with one new member joining the ranks. The majority of the existing board members were re-elected, including eight owner-elected members, two employee-elected members and three external members. Per Nørgård Sognstrup is the new owner-elected member, while Lars-Ole Hjorth-Larsen has stepped down.
During the subsequent constitution, Niels Dengsø Jensen was re-elected as chairman of the board. Additionally, the board decided to reinstate two deputy chairmanships, which had been the practice until 2021. The current deputy chairman, Carl Christian Lei, retains his position, and Carsten Hänel, CEO of Orkla Denmark and an external member of DLG's board of directors since 2022, has been appointed as the second deputy chairman.
Niels Dengsø Jensen highlights the continuity of the board of directors as a key strength, especially during a period of significant structural changes. He emphasizes the importance of having a strong team with diverse competencies and in-depth knowledge of the business to navigate the evolving landscape successfully.
"It has always been the intention to have two vice-chairmen again, and I am pleased to welcome Carsten Hänel to the role," says Niels Dengsø Jensen. "With his over 30 years of experience in the food industry and extensive insight into the green transition, he is well-equipped to contribute to setting DLG's strategic direction."
