USPOULTRY fund research at UGA

Study focused on evaluating a new diagnostic tool for detecting Infectious Laryngotracheitis (ILTV).

Researchers at the University of Georgia, funded by USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation with support from Pilgrim’s, have completed a study evaluating a new diagnostic tool for detecting Infectious Laryngotracheitis (ILTV). Led by Dr. Maricarmen Garcia, the research aimed to enhance ILTV diagnosis by developing a genotyping assay with higher discriminatory power than previous methods.

ILTV causes respiratory disease in chickens globally, making accurate detection crucial for disease management. The project summary is available on the USPOULTRY website, with additional research information accessible at uspoultry.org.
