Moark LLC, the U.S.'s third largest egg producer, announced that Ric Sundal will become its COO. Sundal will replace Craig Willardson, who will retire April 1. Sundal and Willardson will work together on the transition plan until April 1.

"Ric has a strong background for this role with more than 25 years of management experience across the food and agriculture industry, including work in the egg business," said Dan Knutson, chairman of the Moark board of managers. "He has a passion for the egg industry and is very excited to take on his new role of COO of Moark and work to build Moark's overall business."

Prior to his new role, Sundal was senior director of Purina Animal Nutrition's specialty and international businesses where he has successfully managed a sizable portion of the Purina P&L. He was previously director of Purina's national accounts and director of corporate internal audit, finance strategy and business development for Land O'Lakes, Inc. Moark is a wholly owned subsidiary of Land O'Lakes.

Prior to joining Land O'Lakes, Sundal was COO of Ergotron and CFO and managing partner of Best Brands. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting and economics from the University of Minnesota.
