Vion, an animal protein food group in the Netherlands, has acquired Innovative Proteins located in Maquoketa, Minn., from Land’ O-Lakes. The ingredients division of Vion includes Sonac – a producer and distributor of ingredient grade plasma in Europe and China.
The new Vion subsidiary will be operated under the Sonac name. In the U.S., the company will distribute gelatin products derived from a Vion food group subsidiary, Rousselot.
