Welcome to the Poultry International Resource Focus.
Below you will find links to key organizations and players in the broiler, egg and allied industries. Each entry, be it to a poultry or egg industry association or egg research or poultry academic body will take you to an overview of what that organization does and a link to its website.
The egg and poultry organizations below not only represent the needs of poultry and egg producers and processors but also influence the poultry and egg market, contributing to how business is done in either the poultry industry or the egg industry. Each, in its own way, plays a part in the day-to-day functioning of the poultry and egg production, marketing and regulation.
The WATT Poultry Industry Focus is updated monthly. However, should you wish for your organization to be included more quickly, please contact Poultry International editor Mark Clements at: MClements@wattnet.net

The fast-approaching EU ban on conventional cages, often in the headlines, still seems set to come into force in January 2012, to the delight of some and dismay of others. At a meeting of EU Farm Ministers in February, it had been proposed that the implementation should be delayed, despite the decision to implement the ban being made way back in 1999.
Country dependent on imports, susceptible to international fluctuations
U.S. chicken producers are coming to grips with the inevitable – Russia will become self sufficient, more or less, in poultry production, and sooner now than later.
The country's broiler supply is glutting the market, causing profitability issues for poultry farmers. Animal feed prices continue to rise, making low chicken prices unreasonable.
