Cargill Meats Europe wins Cobb Flock of the Year award

Cargill Meats Europe has been presented with the Cobb Flock of the Year award for Europe, Middle East and Africa region for its flock of 26,000 Cobb 500 parents averaging 144.13 chicks per breeder — three chicks ahead of the previous winner. The flock, managed by breeder farm manager Adrian Nicholas, peaked at 84.6% and laid 168.8 total/164.5 hatching eggs to 60 weeks, with a cumulative 87.6% hatchability and 4.5% mortality.

The flock, managed by breeder farm manager Adrian Nicholas, peaked at 84.6% and laid 168.8 total/164.5 hatching eggs to 60 weeks, with a cumulative 87.6% hatchability and 4.5% mortality. Benchmarked against UK and European Union performance, the numbers compare with an average of 140.9 chicks per breeder among the top 25% UK flocks and an overall average of 132.8 chicks per breeder.
