Ceva completes acquisition of animal health company Sogeval

French veterinary pharmaceutical company CevaSanté Animale (Ceva)on December 20 finalized its agreement to acquire rival veterinarypharmaceutical company Sogeval,a subsidiary of Sofiprotéol. By consolidating operations,the management teams of both companies expect to gain an even stronger positionamong the world leaders in animal health.

French veterinary pharmaceutical company Ceva Santé Animale (Ceva) on December 20 finalized its agreement to acquire rival veterinary pharmaceutical company Sogeval, a subsidiary of Sofiprotéol. By consolidating operations, the management teams of both companies expect to gain an even stronger position among the world leaders in animal health.

Sogeval has now becomes a subsidiary of Ceva Santé Animale. Under the agreement signed between the parties, Sogeval's biosecurity and nutrition business will remain in the Sofiprotéol Group which intends to step up its activities in this area. However, international development of this business will be handled partly through the Ceva Group's worldwide network.

The aim of the takeover is to go on the offensive, mobilizing the staff from both companies to accelerate the growth of the new group and achieve its worldwide ambitions.
