Hubbard Feeds named 2010 Feed Mill of the Year

The American Feed Industry Association has announced Hubbard Feeds of Bismarck, N.D., as the recipient of the 2010 Feed Mill of the Year award. The annual award recognizes excellence in feed manufacturing operations including safety, quality, regulatory compliance, operating efficiencies and food safety.

Hubbard operated the mill, originally constructed in 1977, as a joint venture with Heartland in 1993, acquiring the facility in 2003. The mill has been certified by the AFIA Safe Feed/Safe Food program and operates with an HACCP system. The plant has an output of 24,000 tons of feed annually marketed as approximately 80% bulk and 20% bagged. The mill supplies beef and dairy feeds which are distributed through dealers.
