Darrell Glaser, turkey producer and cattle rancher in Rogers, Texas, has been named one of the U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance’s (USFRA) “Faces of Farming &  Ranching.” The competition included eight finalists of which five were revealed as the “Faces of Farming & Ranching” during a press conference today at the National Association of Farm Broadcasting Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

A combination of public votes and USFRA judges’ scores helped determine the winners of the competition. Winners will serve in multiple high-visibility roles on behalf of USFRA, participating in a number of activities including national media interviews, advertising and public appearances. They will also receive professional media/speaker training and full support from USFRA through their yearlong tenure.

The competition was sponsored by USFRA to recognize farms and ranches that best exemplify agriculture. The Bar G Ranch, owned by Darrell and Shannon Glaser, is a U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) 2014 Family Farm Environmental Excellence Award Winner. A video highlighting the Glaser farm can be viewed on the USPOULTRY YouTube page.

“We congratulate the family as one of our environmental excellence award winners and now Darrell for being selected as one of USFRA’s “Faces of Farming & Ranching” representatives,” said John Starkey, USPOULTRY president.

U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance consists of more than 80 farmer- and rancher-led organizations and agricultural partners representing virtually all aspects of agriculture, working to engage in dialogue with consumers who have questions about how today’s food is grown and raised. USFRA is committed to continuous improvement and supporting U.S. farmers and ranchers efforts to increase confidence and trust in today’s agriculture. USPOULTRY is a charter member of the organization and represents the poultry industry on the Board of Directors and other committees.
