Ukraine bans pork exports from southern region

Ukraine has banned the export of pork and its products from the country's southeastern Zaporizhye region due to an outbreak of African swine fever, according to the chairman of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Horzheev. The ban is self-imposed, and no other countries have yet banned Ukraine's pork products, said Horzheev.

The export prohibition of other animal products, particularly dairy products, from the region is under consideration. "We are still considering the issue," said Horzheev. "The export of pork and meat will be banned unambiguously. I just want to talk about dairy products to know how the Russian side will take it."
