Cooper Farms installs wind turbines at cooked meats location

Cooper Farms Cooked Meats has installed two 1.5-megawatt wind turbines which should be fully functional by mid-February and will provide over 50 percent of the Van Wert location's power needs, according to the company. Construction for the turbines began in September 2011.

Cooper Farms Cooked Meats has installed two 1.5-megawatt wind turbines which should be fully functional by mid-February and will provide over 50 percent of the Van Wert location's power needs, according to the company.

Construction for the turbines began in September 2011. “This investment was a part of an overall sustainability goal,” said Gary Cooper, COO. “We have been investing in a wide variety of projects over the years, all of which help to improve our local environment by reducing our overall use of national resources and becoming more efficient in our use of utilities."
