For the first time since 2005, Germany's pig slaughter numbers are decreasing, according to a new report in the British Pig Executive’s latest Export Bulletin.

For the first time since 2005, Germany's pig slaughter numbers are decreasing, according to a new report in the British Pig Executive’s latest Export Bulletin.

Roughly 28.8 million pigs were slaughtered during the first six months of 2012, said Germany’s Federal Statistics Office, a decrease of 0.8 percent (237,000 pigs) compared with 2011 figures.
