MHP poultry sales jump 29 percent in 3rd quarter

Ukrainian poultry and grain company MHP saw a 29 percent increase in sales in its poultry operations for its third quarter of fiscal year 2013. MHP's poultry sales for the first nine months of 2013 increased 19 percent.

Ukrainian poultry and grain company MHP saw a 29 percent increase in sales in its poultry operations for its third quarter of fiscal year 2013. MHP's poultry sales for the first nine months of 2013 increased 19 percent. The quarter ended on September 30.

Because of increased production volues at MHP's Vinnytsia poultry farm, poultry production volumes in the third quarter increased by 17 percent to 122,350 metric tons, and for the first three quarters production volume increased by 18 percent to 346,940 metric tons.

The sales volume for the quarter jumped to 120,080 metric tons when compared to the 93,200 metric tons sold during the same quarter of 2012. Sales for the first nine months saw a year-over-year increase from 274,000 metric tons to 325,430 metric tons.

Implementing a strategy of export sales growth, MHP's export sales for the quarter reached around 30,000 metric tons, about 2.3 times higher than the export sales for the third quarter of 2012. Export sales for the first three quarters of 2013 were 2.6 times higher than the export sales recorded during that same period of 2012.

MHP also released some information about its grain operations, although the harvesting of corn, sunflowers and soya is still in progress. The company reports current yields are around 20 percent higher than the yields recorded in 2012.
