A new Farbest Foods turkey plant in Vincennes, Ind., is set to begin production on December 9. Farbest Foods managers, as well as regional and state officials took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony on December 2 to dedicate the new Farbest Foods plant and offer a look at the facility.

"This will be the most highly automated turkey processing plant ... I venture to say North America, if not the world," said Ted Seger, president of Farbest Foods.

The facility is part of Farbest Foods' investment of more than $100 million to expand the Indiana-based company. Farbest also built a new feed mill in Bruceville and a breeder hub in Bicknell, according to news reports. About 300 new employees were added to staff the new Farbest Foods turkey processing plant.
