HKScan CEO Hannu Kottonen steps down

Hannu Kottonen, CEO and President of HKScan Corporation, and the group’s board of directors have together agreed that Kottonen will discontinue his duties as president and CEO of HKScan as of January 20.

Hannu Kottonen, CEO and president of HKScan Corporation, and the group’s board of directors have together agreed that Kottonen will discontinue his duties as president and CEO of HKScan as of January 20.

Kottonen has served as CEO of HKScan Corporation since 2012.

The HKScan board of directors will immediately initiate the application process necessary to select a new CEO.
In the interim, Aki Laiho, who is HKScan’s deputy CEO and chief operating officer, will temporarily assume the position of CEO.

HKScan, according to the WATTAgNet Top Poultry Companies Database, is one of the leading food companies in northern Europe with markets in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, the Baltic countries and Poland. HKScan produces, sells and markets pork and beef, poultry products, processed meats and convenience foods under strong brand names. HKScan's brands for poultry products are Kariniemen in Finland, Rose in Denmark and Tallegg in Estonia. The company in total had net sales of nearly EUR2 billion (US$2.2 billion) in 2014, a 6 percent drop from 2013.
