Foodservice, retail grocers to discuss chicken trends

Some of the nation's leading foodservice and retail grocers will participate in a panel discussion about chicken marketing trends at the National Chicken Council's Chicken Marketing Summit 2016, July 10-12.

Foodservice and retail grocers will discuss chicken marketing trends in a panel session at the National Chicken Council (NCC) Chicken Marketing Summit 2016, July-12.

NCC’s Chicken Marketing Summit 2016 brings together a cross-section of poultry industry stakeholders to network, share, learn and dialogue together about the opportunities and challenges for chicken being driven by fast-changing consumer trends.

Foodservice panelists discussing chicken marketing trends will include:

  • Dean Bradley, director - protein supply, Buffalo Wild Wings, which rang up $3.6 billion in system-wide sales in 2015, while achieving 10 percent growth units and 24 percent growth in revenue over the last five years.   
  • Mike Ledford, supply chain - food and beverage sourcing, Chick-fil-A, which was named the top chicken restaurant brand in one poll, with $6 billion in sales in 2015 at over 2,000 locations.
  • Chris Chang, chief financial officer, Raising Cane’s, which was named one of the top 10 quick-service restaurant chains in 2015, serving chicken finger meals.

Retail grocery panelists speaking at the event will include:

  • Stefan Oellinger, category merchant/sourcing for meat and poultry, for online retail grocer, Fresh Direct, which serves customers in New York City and Philadelphia.

Presented by the National Chicken Council and WATT Global Media, the 41st annual Chicken Marketing Summit 2016 will be held July 10-12 at the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
