Brakebush Brothers acquires Wells Food Processing

Brakebush Brothers, family owned and operated company specializing in providing chicken to the foodservice industry, has purchased Wells Food Processing in Wells, Minnesota.

Brakebush Brothers, family owned and operated company specializing in providing chicken to the foodservice industry, has purchased Wells Food Processing in Wells, Minnesota.

The purchase was effective April 21, 2016. Wells Food Processing and was previously owned by North Central Equity LLC.

Founded in 1925 by brothers William and Otto Brakebush, the company continues to be operated by the Brakebush family. Brakebush provides the food industry with over 200 high quality chicken products. 

Brakebush has its state-of-the-art processing facility and corporate headquarters in Westfield, Wisconsin, and a raw portioning plant in Irving, Texas. Since acquiring its Texas operation three years ago, Brakebush has more than doubled its overall business. From these two facilities, Brakebush services a wide array of customers in the fast casual, college/university, healthcare, school, convenience store, national chain and retail segments.

The purchase of the Wells plant adds a third processing facility and second fully cooked operation. “Adding the Wells facility puts us in a great position to continue to grow our existing customer base and aggressively pursue new business” notes company President Scott Sanders. 

 Wells City Administrator Robin Leslie said: “We’re excited about adding Brakebush to our industrial base and the manufacturing jobs they’ll bring to our community.”
