Perdue AgriBusiness will purchase 10 of the 12 grain elevators the company has leased from Southern States Cooperative Inc. since 2002 and will continue to lease two other elevators that are immediately adjacent to Southern States feed mills. The announcement will have no impact on grain receiving at the elevators, which have been operated by Perdue since the lease agreement was signed 14 years ago.

“This agreement ensures that farmers will continue to have access to domestic and international markets through these elevators using Perdue AgriBusinesses’ grain merchandising programs,” said Dick Willey, president, Perdue AgriBusiness.
The 12 facilities involved in the transaction are located in Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia and represent more than 10 million bushels of grain storage.
