Ingham’s extends long-term Woolworths poultry contract

Ingham’s has extended its contract with grocery chain Woolworths to run through the middle of 2021.

Ingham’s has extended its contract with grocery chain Woolworths to run through the middle of 2021.

With the contract extension, Ingham’s continues a long-term relationship with the chain and will enable Ingham’s to remain the grocer’s majority poultry supplier for Australia.

“This agreement extends our supply relationship with Woolworths to over 60 years and supports our investment in capability and capacity to meet market growth and demand for Ingham’s quality products,” Ingham’s CEO Mick McMahon told Australian Food News.

Inghams, according to the WATTAgNet Top Poultry Companies Database, is Australia’s largest producer of poultry meat, with more than 340 vertically integrated facilities across Australia and New Zealand. The company operates 62 breeding farms, 180 broiler farms and seven distribution centers.

The company recently announced that it will sell its existing feed and hatchery site at Wanneroo in Western Australia and will construct a new feed mill at Muchea, near Perth.

The contract extension will see Ingham’s maintain its role as Woolworths’ majority poultry supplier for Australia. Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ingham’s, Mick Mahon, said Ingham’s has now had a supply relationship with Woolworths for decades.
