Nutreco completes acquisition of Hi-Pro Feeds

Nutreco has completed the acquisition of Hi-Pro Feeds, after satisfying all closing conditions and having received regulatory approvals. As part of the integration, Nutreco's combined animal nutrition businesses in North America, consisting of Shur-Gain, Landmark and Hi-Pro Feeds, will now trade under the name Trouw Nutrition.

Mountaire to buy Maryland, Virginia grain facilities

Mountaire Farms has entered an agreement to purchase the grain elevators and operating assets of Lansing Trade Group LLC in Pocomoke, Maryland; and Eastville and Painter, Virginia. "Mountaire is a family owned agricultural company with deep roots on the Eastern Shore," said Mountaire Farms President and CEO Paul Downes.

 

Scandi Standard to acquire Ireland's Manor Farm

Nordic company Scandi Standard AB has entered into an agreement to acquire Ireland-based chicken processor Manor Farm. According to a press release from Scandi Standard, Manor Farm had net revenues of EUR164 million (US$187.2 million) and EBITDA of EUR13 million (US$14.8 million) in 2016.

Smithfield Poland acquires Pini Group packaged meat company

Smithfield Foods completed its acquisition of Pini Group's packaged meats companies in Poland. These companies will be operated by Animex Foods, one of the largest food producers in Poland and part of Smithfield Poland, which is owned by Smithfield Foods.

Dutt & Wagner to acquire Parker & Reichman egg business

Dutt & Wagner of Virginia has reached an agreement to acquire substantially all the assets of Parker & Reichman, relating to their commercial production, processing, distribution and sale of shell eggs business. The assets to be acquired include commercial egg production, feed mill, pullet rearing, and processing facilities with current capacity for approximately 600,000 laying hens and 200,000 pullets located near Andrews, North Carolina.

Cargill acquires Pollos El Bucanero in Colombia

Cargill has acquired Colombia-based Pollos El Bucanero S.A. (Bucanero Chicken), one of Colombia's leading producers of chicken and processed meats products. The acquisition marks Cargill's first introduction of its global protein business into Colombia. Pollos Bucanero has more than 30 years of experience and its products are the preferred choice of food service companies and retailers in multiple regions of Colombia.
