National Grain and Feed Association chairman appoints committee heads

More than 20 industry members to take leadership roles

Recently elected National Grain and Feed Association Chairman Hal Reed has announced the appointment of industry leaders to chair the association’s committees and councils during his term of office:

  • The Agroterrorism-Prevention and Facility Security chairwoman is Judy Fadden, global security manager for U.S. operations, General Mills Inc., Minneapolis, Minn.
  • The Arbitration Appeals Panel chairman is Roger Krueger, vice president of grain, South Dakota Wheat Growers Association, Aberdeen, S.D.
  • The Biofuels Committee chairman is Matt Gibson, vice president of feed, ICM, Colwich, Kan.
  • The Biotechnology Committee chairman is James Stitzlein, manager of market development, Consolidated Grain & Barge Co., Chesterfield, Mo.
  • The Country Elevator Committee chairman is James Black, general manager of Maple Hurst Farms Inc., Rochelle, Ill.
  • The Feed and Animal Agriculture Strategic Issues Committee chairman is David Hoodmold, executive vice president, Land O’Lakes Inc., and chief operating officer of feed, Land O’Lakes Purina Feed LLC, Shoreview, Minn.
  • The Feed Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee chairman is Jarvis Haugeberg, general manager, DakotaLand Feeds LLC, Huron, S.D.
  • The Feed Manufacturing and Technology Committee chairman is David Kier, president, DFS Inc., Newell, Iowa.
  • The Finance and Administration Committee chairman is John Heck, vice president, The Scoular Co., Omaha, Neb.
  • The Grain Grades and Weights Committee chairman is Tim Purus, vice president of terminal operations, CHS Inc., St. Paul, Minn.
  • The International Trade/Agricultural Policy Committee chairman is Thomas Erickson, vice president of government affairs, Bunge North America Inc., Washington, D.C.
  • The Legal Council chairwoman is Joan Macklin, senior vice president and general counsel, The Scoular Co., Minneapolis, Minn.
  • The Marketing and Business Development Committee chairman is Mark Avery, publisher, Grain Journal, Decatur, Ill.
  • The Rail Arbitration Rules Committee chairman is Kyle Hancock, vice president of industrial and agricultural products, CSX Transportation Co., Jacksonville, Fla.
  • The Rail Shipper-Receiver Committee chairman is Dan Mack, vice president of transportation, CHS Inc., St. Paul, Minn.
  • The Risk Management Committee chairman is Matt Bruns, vice president of corn processing, Archer Daniels Midland Co., Decatur, Ill.
  • The Safety, Health and Environmental Quality Committee chairman is Paul Luther, environmental, health and safety leader, Land O’Lakes Purina Feed LLC, St. Louis, Mo. The committee has two subcommittees: the Education Subcommittee, chaired by Gary Kearn, loss control and prevention manager, The Scoular Co., Salina, Kan.; and the Grain Subcommittee, chaired by Stacy Schmidt, director of safety, health and environmental protection, The Andersons Inc., Maumee, Ohio.
