A batch of TOPIGS genetics Tempo boars recently was delivered to the Prigorodnyi farm in the region of Murmansk, Russia; the most northern professional pig farm in the world, according to the TOPIGS.
The farm began using Tempo boars in 2008, and the carcass quality and vitality of the piglets contributed to the management's decision to continue using the boars. TOPIGS said the offspring have a strong appetite, high growth rate and good meat quality; all beneficial qualities for an extreme northern climate.
