Bayer HealthCare is expanding its presence in the Asia Pacific with the release of three new products, the expansion of its aquaculture business and the acquisition of the Bomac group.

At VIV Asia 2011, Bayer announced the launch of three products in the area of feed additives in cooperation with its industry partners. The new partner, AgraQuest Inc., will supply Bayer the probiotic feed additive Baymix Grobig BS for its launch in Thailand. The products TOXISORB Premium, produced by Süd-Chemie AG, and Baymix Latibon Plus ME from Dr. Eckel GmbH, both already marketed by Bayer, received a claim extension.
Bayer's animal health division has also focused on expanding its aquaculture portfolio, focusing particularly on shrimp, and the company has acquired the New Zealand-based Bomac group to better access the Asia Pacific market. “These developments build on our activities from previous years, when we have significantly expanded our business into this region with various product launches and strengthened our sales forces in many countries,” said Dr. Alexander Jahn, head of region international at Bayer Animal Health.
