Thailand's agriculture officials are preparing an update on Newcastle disease in the country's poultry industry for the World Organisation for Animal Health after recent reports of disease outbreaks with symptoms similar to Newcastle, according to reports.

"Our inspection found some chickens suffered from bronchitis, but that might not be because of Newcastle," said an official with Thailand's Livestock and Development Department. OIE inspectors certified Thailand's poultry industry free of Newcastle in early 2011. The country has found no cases of avian flu for two years, according to government records.
