The Iowa Department of Agriculture is providing guidance to grain farmers who may have been affected by recent floodwaters from the Missouri River.
While the flooding happened gradually enough for most farmers to move their grain, according to farm and environmental officials, anything left behind likely will not be suitable for human consumption or animal feed. Owners who want to attempt to salvage their grain must test it and submit a plan to the state's agriculture department.
