Evidence has been found that cow intestines are being used in animal feed at a slaughterhouse owned by Finland manufacturer Saarioinen.
Cow intestines are banned for use in animal feed due to fears of mad cow disease and bovine spongiform encephalopathy. Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira has launched an internal probe into the situation, and the practice has been stopped.
