The Canadian Pork Council commended the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, on behalf of canadian pork producers, for keeping fees for endorsing export certificates at the same level for another two years.

The extension of the cap on user fees charged to Canadian producers exporting live feeder swine to the United States will allow CFIA and the industry to continue efforts to modernize the user fee structure. Without this extension, CPC says the cost to Canadian producers would return to an outdated fee structure that would range from $300 to $375, depending on the number of animals being transported per load.
