Venky’s, part of the Venkateshwara Hatcheries Group, has further expanded its restaurant chain in India.

In late October, the company opened a second outlet in Hyderabad. The restaurant has a “live kitchen,” bringing transparency to the whole cooking process and giving a view of what’s happening behind the counter, according to the company.

The restaurant offers chicken and vegetarian dishes and uses only in-house chicken.

Venky’s, which supplies chicken products to various international quick-service restaurants, such as Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, TGI Friday and Vista Foods, opened its first restaurant under the Venky’s XPRS brand in January 2011 in Pune. This was followed by openings in Hyderabad and Mumbai. The company has also established a fully equipped, state-of-the-art and centrally controlled food testing laboratory in Hyderabad and entered a tie up with Campden BRI, UK.

Venky’s has said that it intends to expand the XPRS chain throughout Europe and overseas.
