Bangladesh culls poultry after bird flu detection

3,000 birds culled and 1,300 eggs destroyed

Over 3,000 birds were culled and 1,300 eggs destroyed at a poultry farm in Bangladesh following detection of the bird flu virus, according to reports.

Livestock officials visited district farms and concluded that the infection was limited to only one farm. The loss has been estimated at US$8,600.
