Food safety company approved by USDA for DON grain test kit

Charm Sciences Inc., a food safety diagnostics developer, received approval from the USDA's Agriculture's Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration for the ROSA FAST5 DON quantitative test kit. According to Charm Sciences, the test is approved for detection of DON (vomitoxin) in grain, after having met USDA accuracy specifications for Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration-approved commodities at 0.5 to 5 ppm DON.

According to Charm Sciences, the test is approved for detection of DON (vomitoxin) in grain, after having met USDA accuracy specifications for Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration-approved commodities at 0.5 to 5 ppm DON. These approved commodities include: barley, corn, DDGS, malted barley, milled rice, oats, rough rice, sorghum, wheat, wheat bran, wheat flour and wheat midds.
