A new guideline on the use of avian influenza vaccination is now available, as Appendix C of the National Animal Health Emergency Management System Vaccination for Contagious Disease Guideline.
The document is also available on The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Animal Disease Preparedness & Response Plan collaboration website; however, registration is required to access the document on this website. Appendix C provides detailed information and considerations regarding the use of vaccination in a highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak. The document is designed as a resource for USDA employees, including National Animal Health Emergency Response Corps members, and for vaccination group supervisors and others involved in vaccination activities.
