Perten Instruments, founded in 1962 by cereal chemist Harald Perten, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012.
The company was founded on the commercialization of the Falling Number Method, which provides a rapid, simple-to-use test to determine sprout damage at grain elevators. "By focusing on solutions rather than being strictly technology driven, we bring problem-solving applications to market rather than simply new instruments," said Sven Holmlund, Perten CEO. "That was the case in the beginning with the Falling Number Method, and remains the case."
