USPOULTRY stresses industry proactivity at human resources seminar

The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association's 2012 Human Resource Management Seminar focused on industry proactivity and how it can impact legislation and reform, presenting on such topics as immigration laws, discrimination law and OSHA inspections. Mark Reed, CEO of Border Management Strategies, gave a presentation on ICE/I-9/immigration laws; and Chris Lauderdale, an attorney with Jackson Lewis LLP, gave “An Attorney’s Perspective on Emerging Issues in Discrimination Law.”

Mark Reed, CEO of Border Management Strategies, gave a presentation on ICE/I-9/immigration laws; and Chris Lauderdale, an attorney with Jackson Lewis LLP, gave “An Attorney’s Perspective on Emerging Issues in Discrimination Law.” Other topics included a state of the industry update; workers compensation: mitigating costs; dealing With OSHA inspections; "Stress…Are You In Control?"; post offer of employment testing; and a series of roundtable workshops covering areas such as conducting internal investigations, healthcare reform, new recruiting trends/hiring process, immigration issues and more.
