Brazil may see 6 percent poultry revenue increase in 2012

Brazil's poultry industry may see a 6 percent increase in the gross production value of its poultry products over 2011 numbers, to R$850 million (US$417.2 million), according to an outlook report by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics. This revenue is expected to contribute to 3 percent of the gross production value of the top 10 animal products from the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso.

This revenue is expected to contribute to 3 percent of the gross production value of the top 10 animal products from the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. The institute also reports that poultry meat has remained the sixth leading animal product in the state over the past two years due to an increase in corn production over the last five years. Beef remains the main animal product in Mato Grosso.
