British pig producers saw a 76 percent increase in demand for party food favorites such as pork pies, scotch eggs and sausage rolls in some supermarkets as the country celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth in the first week of June.

With sales peaking in some stores at more than £123 million, it was one of the best trading weeks of 2012 for pig meat products, with the exception of Christmas and Easter, according to the British Pig Executive.
