Lallemand probiotic receives positive opinion from European Food Safety Authority

Lallemand Animal Nutrition's probiotic bacteria strain Pediococcus acidilactici MA 18/5M has received a positive scientific opinion from the European Food Safety Authority's Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed for use in drinking water for weaned piglets, pigs for fattening, laying hens and chickens for fattening. When authorized, a water soluble formulation of Pediococcus acidilactici MA 18/5M will be marketed under the trade name Bactocell Drink.

Lallemand Animal Nutrition's probiotic bacteria strain Pediococcus acidilactici MA 18/5M has received a positive scientific opinion from the European Food Safety Authority's Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed for use in drinking water for weaned piglets, pigs for fattening, laying hens and chickens for fattening.

When authorized, a water soluble formulation of Pediococcus acidilactici MA 18/5M will be marketed under the trade name Bactocell Drink. The product is already authorized for use in complete feed for weaned piglets, pigs for fattening, chickens for fattening, laying hens, salmonids and shrimps.
