Sanderson Farms' director of export sales, Don Ellen, has been elected chairman of the board of the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council for 2009-10.
Ellen was elected during USAPEEC's 20th Annual Executive Conference and Membership Meeting in Key Biscayne, Fla.

Ellen will head the eight-member executive committee, which sets policy and gives direction to USAPEEC, the body that works to promote and increase exports of U.S. chicken, turkey, duck and egg products worldwide.
Ellen succeeds Saher Rizk, managing director of Mirasco, an Atlanta-based poultry export trading company.
