Michael Foods Inc. has gained Dr. Julie Kelly as a full-time on-staff veterinarian.


Kelly will work in the company’s Wakefield, Neb., office and will work alongside Dr. Richard Dutton, who has served as Michael Foods veterinarian since 1990, as he transitions to retirement in October. In her new role, Kelly will provide day-to-day management of Michael Foods’ hen well-being initiatives. In addition, Kelly will work with nutritionists, farm managers, contract managers and supervisors, and production managers on a regular basis to answer questions, enhance health programs and ensure the hens receive a nutritious, well-balanced diet to produce safe, wholesome eggs for consumers.
