Romania’s corn production has dropped 60 percent from 2011 numbers due to a drought that damaged crops, according to Ziarul Financiar and the Agriculture Ministry.

The country harvested 4.7 million metric tons of corn in 2012 compared with 11.7 million metric tons in 2011.
