Belarus has imposed a temporary import ban on poultry from India due to a recent outbreak of avian influenza in the state of Karnataka, according to the department of veterinary and food surveillance of the Food and Agriculture Ministry.

The ban, which went into effect on October 29, includes live poultry, hatching eggs, down and feathers, poultry and all kinds of poultry products, feed and feed additives from the birds. It also applies to second-hand equipment for poultry farms. Belarus also canceled all previously issued permits for import of any poultry or poultry products from India.
