Greene Hills Farm to host local workshop

Seminar is designed to raise awareness about a WSDA license.

Due to an increasing number of people interested in raising poultry, a workshop at the Greene Hills Farm in Benton City, Wash., is scheduled for June 8 to help those interested learn more about the process, according to an article from the Tri-City Herald .

Greene Hills is working with the Washington State Department of Agriculture and Heifer International to put on the Hands-On Poultry Processing Workshop, said Colleen Donovan, program manager for Heifer International.

The workshop is designed to raise awareness about a WSDA license that will allow small poultry farmers to raise, slaughter and sell on-farm up to 1,000 birds per year, according to the article.
