Andy Schneider, better known as the Chicken Whisperer, is entering his third year as spokesperson for a national public awareness campaign focusing on keeping backyard poultry disease free.
The Biosecurity For Birds campaign, conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services, is designed to educate the growing population of backyard poultry owners on how to keep their flocks healthy and free from such diseases as Avian Influenza and Exotic Newcastle Disease. Throughout 2013, Schneider will be using his radio show, guest appearances, website, Facebook and Twitter pages to promote proper biosecurity measures to ensure healthy flocks.
