Texas A&M takes home top honors in poultry contest

Twelve universities participated in the 62nd U.S. Poultry & Egg Association National Poultry Judging Contest, but Texas A&M University’s team won overall in this year’s competition, according to a U.S. Poultry press release.

Twelve universities participated in the 62nd U.S. Poultry & Egg Association National Poultry Judging Contest, but Texas A&M University’s team won overall in this year’s competition, according to a U.S. Poultry press release. This is the second year in a row they have won the title. Mallori Williams, also from Texas A&M, was the individual overall winner.

The Penn State team came in second and Josh Campbell of Kansas State University finished second in the individual competition.

The event was held at Louisiana State University where Barbara Jenkins, U.S. Poultry & Egg Association director of education programs, presented the awards.
