Abit Massey, president emeritus of the Georgia Poultry Federation, was presented a presidential citation for distinguished service, according to a press release from the Georgia Tech Research Institute.

The citation, presented to Massey by Georgia Tech Interim President and Provost Dr. Gary B. Schuster, recognized Massey’s championing of university research and outreach and the role it can play in promoting economic development in the state.

Massey was a driving force behind the creation of the Agricultural Technology Research Program and remains a committed supporter of the program.

“The poultry industry is stronger because of the assistance of Georgia Tech and the Georgia Tech Research Institute,” Massey said.
