ProTerra Foundation appoints executive vice president with eye to expansion

The ProTerra Foundation, a not-for-profit organization set up to support the European food and feed industries in sourcing sustainably produced, non-genetically modified foodstuffs, has appointed Peter Sakkers as executive vice president to drive expansion in the Netherlands, one of Europe’s biggest importers of soy. A former senior Unilever executive with more than 30 years’ experience in industrial sales and marketing, Sakkers will be responsible for developing the ProTerra certification business as well as expanding the organization’s membership in the Netherlands.

The ProTerra Foundation, a not-for-profit organization set up to support the European food and feed industries in sourcing sustainably produced, non-genetically modified foodstuffs, has appointed Peter Sakkers as executive vice president to drive expansion in the Netherlands, one of Europe’s biggest importers of soy.

A former senior Unilever executive with more than 30 years’ experience in industrial sales and marketing, Sakkers will be responsible for developing the ProTerra certification business as well as expanding the organization’s membership in the Netherlands. His business experience in the Netherlands will enable him to network with Dutch and European government leaders, industry associations and NGOs on behalf of ProTerra, according to the company.
