Benny Bishop has been named COO Peco Foods Inc. Bishop’s promotion was announced by Mark Hickman, CEO of Peco.
Bishop began his career with Gold Kist Poultry, then spent six years with ConAgra Poultry and 14 years with Southland Broilers as vice president.
In 1992 he joined Wayne Farms as complex manager and was promoted to complex area manager for north Alabama in 2001. Before joining the Peco team in 2006, he was general manager of catfish operations for American Pride Seafood’s.
“In an industry as large and complex as ours, it is essential to find the very best managers in the country and give them the tools to produce optimum results,” Hickman said.
“Benny Bishop came to us with vast knowledge of the poultry business and a reputation for excellence. He quickly demonstrated the depth of his management skills, and this promotion reflects his accomplishments.”
In his new position, Bishop will oversee live production, processing, sales and marketing divisions.
