The 2009 National Breeders Roundtable will be held May 7-8 at the Airport Marriott Hotel in St. Louis. It will be the 58th edition of the annual conference. The roundtable is sponsored by the Poultry Breeders of America and US Poultry & Egg Association.

“This year’s program, led by prominent scientists and recognized authorities, will focus on the latest research and new developments in breeding and genetics,” said program chairman Dr. Manouchehr Katanbaf, of Cobb-Vantress Inc.

“Everyone involved in breeder operations and associated functions will benefit, including industry, government and universities. And it is an excellent networking opportunity,” he added.

The agenda will examine an array of breeder-related topics, such as understanding and breeding for improved poultry feed efficiency; avian influenza – challenges and opportunities; genetically controlled disease in poultry; and epigenetics influences on heredity.
